Interview update on 3/29/2018
Who are you playing with in 2018?
Looking to get my shot!! big_blue06@yahoo.com
What positions do you play and what is your best position?
I play IF; 3B, 1B, C.. Mainly used for my stick, but will play where I'm needed.
Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
Filip Washington, Zach Messer, and John Williams.
Why do you like the game of softball?
It's a humbling sport n it's a challenge for me. There is always someone better than you, but it makes you come together as a team and you really form a bond with those you play with and against.
Who is the best up and coming player in softball and why?
Too many to say, especially with the politics, you'll probably never see them get their chance to show their talents.
What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Blue.. It's my last name
What is your height and weight?
6'2/235
Where do you call home?
Pensacola, FL
What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Working on my game n taking bp with some great ball players.
What do you do for a living?
Active Duty Air Force/Combat Logistics Operations
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Played football mostly. Played baseball until my Junior year.
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
I tried out for the Base team and didn't make it. Set a fire underneath me to get better n learn the game. I currently play Military "A" ball, but looking to cross over to Conference play.
What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
The biggest thing was the strike zone and no courtesy foul. But the talent level of the players was an eye opener as well. So many gifted athletes.
Is there a player that you would compare your game to?
Can't really compare. I've studied a lot of players to learn from.. i.e Bubba Mack, Greg Connell, Chad Loudon, Filip Washington, Tyson Steele, and my buddy Mike Reyes (Upper Ball Player That Enjoys The Game).
What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
My first tournament playing Military "A". I went 34/35 w/ 12 homeruns, but more importantly we won the tournament.
In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
I would say my Mentor/Coach Dennis Browning has truly helped me reach my potential in this game by challenging me and teaching me the game and how to approach every situation on the field. My brotha Chad Loudon has also played a big role in my development and giving me hope that I can compete at the next level.
What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Stay humble. This game is all about TEAM! No room for someone that thinks their better than everybody. You will be sadly mistaken!

Pinky down on the knob/top hand overlap
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
