What positions do you play and what is your best position?
Pitcher primarily. Also play M and OF
Who is the best softball player you have ever seen play?
There's so many guys out there with great talent to just just choose 1. Reyna, Nino, Whaley, Marshburn.
Why do you like the game of softball?
Competition, traveling, making friends that push me to be a better ballplayer and person.
What is your nickname in softball and how did you get it?
Logs, Lo
What is your height and weight?
5'8 190
Where do you call home?
Bristol, TN
What's your favorite way to spend an off weekend?
Family time or working on projects around the house.
What do you do for a living?
Logistics for the production of helicopters.
Did you play sports in High School / College / Pro?
Yes, baseball and basketball
How did you get your start in softball and how did you get to the upper level?
Started playing league with my dad and a few friends. Then some veteran guys from TN/NC helped me understand and learn the game, since then I've always wanted to play better competition to improve my game and experience. Then just a couple guys sticking their neck out for me to move from D to C.
What was the most surprising difference between Conference play and non-Conference play when you made the jump?
Pitching by far. Also the preparation to get ready to play big events.
What would you say is your career highlight to this point? Maybe one play or game that sticks out to you in particular?
Just playing against guys in the smoky or kut4 major was probably the biggest highlight. Playing against some of the top guys in the sport.
In your career was there a single person (player/manager/coach) who had the most significant impact on your approach to the game? Why?
My dad has made the biggest impact. From teaching me the game to dropping plans throughout the day just for a few hours on the ball field to help me improve my game.
What advice can you give a young player trying to break into the upper level?
Hustle is free, it takes more than just hitting to improve your game, don't be afraid to speak to guys/coaches at tourneys to make contacts, and always thank your sponsors/coaches for taking care of you on and off the field.
What type of batting grip do you use and what ounce bat?
pinky drop, 26.5 or 27
What do you do in the offseason to prepare for the next softball season?
Gym prep, also play volleyball and basketball to stay active.
What is your favorite sports team and your favorite sport other than softball?
Duke Basketball and Michigan Football
What would be your "at bat" music selection?
Batter Up, Mike Stud
What is the best improvement upper level softball could make?
Forcing teams to move up to play where they belong. Eliminate the rec divison and bump everyone to E which in the long run will force players up to D, C, B to help upper levels improve the number of teams.
What is your favorite non-World tournament and why?
Smoky, Hall of Fame, Dudley at Va. Beach, The Pic
What is the best softball field/complex you have played at and why?
Botetourt and Moyer in Roanoke, VA.
Panama's new complex is nice also.
Where is the best place to eat on the road after a game?
Zaxby's
What is the funniest thing you have ever seen on a softball field?
A between the legs judy over 1st base that turned into an in the park homerun.
Tell us something about you that most would never know about you?
I won't eat foreign foods.
